Day 14 - 31 Days

You may have just arrived from one Wicked Blogger Kapree and are now here at Shoni / Crafty Inknik.  The next spook-a-licious blog is Altered Pages.

Don't forget that you can win daily prizes by going through the Wicked Bloggers (on <----- left side) and find a different hidden image each day on different blogs.  Click HERE to find about clues and how to enter.

It's Day 14 and I was not the only one excited for today's post.  I altered a baby doll head into a wine stopper over a year ago.  The body of the doll has been very upset at me because it wanted a head.  I was at Walmart the other day and guess what...found a skull that said it was looking for a body.  I just happen to have one of those.

Brought the skull home and could not wait to sit down and create, bwwaaaahhhaaaa.  Now this little love has a special place in my heart and so should have a name worthy of its unique beauty.
I only have boys, so this dear had to be a girl.  Her name means: The name of an evil spirit in Greek mythology who abducts and murders children. Also means "vampire" in Latin and "fiend" in Arabic.  What a perfect fit.  Hard to see but she does have a bit of blood on feet and hands.  Small enough to entice and feed on children this spooky Halloween.
I apologize for all the pics and you should be happy I narrowed it down to three!  Someone wanted me to get only the best poses...
I give you LAMIA:
 MY BEST SIDE

31 DOH - Day 14 and DT Project for Smudy Antics

Day #14 of the 31 Days of Halloween event, held by Smeared Ink and the Smeared and Smudged Forum.  To start from the beginning, see daily winners, and for more info check out Terra's Blog.

The Wicked Blogger list is on your left under my personal info.  You should have just seen Roni's blog and are now here at Shoni aka Crafty Inknik's blog.  Up next is Jenn.

I have done some glass etching for this project.  I used another favorite stamp from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club set Morte, drawn by Rick St. Dennis.  I was inspired by Rick's wonderful painted glass/mug last week on Airless Chambers, click HERE to see his amazing project.  The last time I tried this, I had used small stamps on small glass candle holders.  Love that I have some bigger, wickedly drawn images to do more with.

I am also sooooo happy and excited to announce that I am part of the wonderful Smeared Ink Design Team, on the Smeared and Smudged Forum.  I have appreciated the warmth, the fantastic digital and rubber stamps, and the other Design Team members for their wonderful creativity every week.  Thank you again for this amazing opportunity Terra and Tori!

This glass is also my first DT project for the Smudgy Antics Challenge blog.  There is one week left for the Smeared Ink Only challenge.  Digi's and stamps by Smeared Ink can only be used, lets see what you can create!

The Frosty Details
Glass was purchased at Walmart in a set of 12.
Stamp was inked with Versa Mark ink and placed onto glass.
Clear Embossing Powder was used over stamped image and heat set.  This may take a bit longer since the glass itself needs to heat up before the powder can melt.
Let image cool and bring glass back to room temperature, about 10-15 min.
I did stamp the same image on the other side and repeated next two steps.

Once cool again, I placed glass upside down on scrap paper.
Armour Etch, glass etching cream, was placed over entire glass with paintbrush.
I let glass sit for around 15 minutes.  Etching cream should mostly be dry and okay if there are some wet areas.
Rinse off with warm to hot water to take off dried cream AND the embossed powder.

When you embossed your image, you were keeping that part of the glass clear.  The embossing protected your stamped image from the Etching cream.

Your glass is ready for that Halloween party punch, or a gift, or for you to impress others with your mad skills.  These are dishwasher safe.
All materials are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
