31 DOH - Day 30 WARNING - Gory Images

You are now here at Shoni aka Crafty Inknik's and should have just left Roni's blog.  Jenn is next on the wonderfully talented Wicked Blogger list, that is on your left if you just joined us.
Thanks Smeared Ink and the Smeared and Smudged Forum for hosting this 31 Days of Halloween event.  And another HUGE THANKS to all the Sponsors who have been so generous all month long.

We made it to Day 30!  Everyone who has been here for the full month, and those of you who are intermittent, thank you so much for viewing and commenting.  To start from the beginning, see daily winners, and for more info check out Terra's Blog.

I had this wonderfully uber, ucky, idea a few weeks ago.  It was cemented this past weekend when I sat down and caught up on American Horror Story Coven and saw (heheheee) the episode called "Boy Parts".  Basically, the two witches are in the morgue cutting and sewing the best parts of multiple boys together for the perfect boyfriend.

I had this Workbench tutorial...somewhere.  Tore into every box and checked every binder.  This project almost did not happen, but found it!  Lucky for you, the Workbench of Death was created.  I kept the images without color because I thought all the red on the workbench spoke for itself.  Extreme, yes.  Gory, yes.  The perfect boyfriend soon to be completed, yes.  What can I say, I grew up on 80's horror movies!

Hack Sawed Deets
Bench
I used a digi paper from Smeared Ink called Slasher Digital Paper Pack.  I printed it out onto Smoky Slate card stock (cs), two times.
All pieces to make the workbench base and drawer are from this printed cs.

Cork board piece that is holding the tools has been embossed with Dots Embossing Folder.  Then inked with Crumb Cake ink.
Silver Mini Brads are the faux nails to hold up tools.

Drawer
Front is Basic Black cs embossed with a cross hatch embossing folder from Cuttlebug.
Silver Encore ink on to make to look like metal.
1/2" Circle punch for handle.
Silver Glitter Brad for handle center.

In drawer I place sewing needles, rolled strips of dry sheets, inked strips of dryer sheets, and Linen Thread.

Silver Encore ink is on all edges, sides and tops of bench.

Tools
I hand drew each blade, on the printed Smoky Slate cs and cut out.  Marker was used to add more blood to blade edges.
Hand drawn handles on Basic Black cs.  Cut out and adhered to finished blade.

Images are from Smeared Ink set called Gross Anatomy
They are printed out and fussy cut.
I did have to cut arm off and re-place to fall right.
All materials used are Stampin' Up! and are current unless otherwise noted.

31 DOH - Day 29

I can not believe it, Day 29!  You all are wonderful, thank you so much for hanging in there with us.  To start from the beginning, see daily winners, and for more info check out Terra's Blog.

You are now here at Shoni aka Crafty Inknik's and should have just left Roni's blog.  Jenn is next on the Wicked Blogger list, that is on your left if you just joined us.  Big shout out to Smeared Ink and the Smeared and Smudged Forum for hosting this 31 Days of Halloween event.  And a HUGE THANKS to all the Sponsors who have been so generous all month long.

One of those fabulous sponsors needs no introduction, Rick St. Dennis.  His wonderful, fun, and creative drawings are inspirations themselves.  I have used four images from a digi set called Aliens and Mutants.  When I first saw this set I wanted to make a Waterfall Card using some of these characters.  Finally got around to it!  So, X's & O's (kisses and hugs) to all of you from each of them.

Orbiting Details
Images were printed on to Neena paper.  Each was colored in with Copic's, and fussy cut.
Stamp with 'XOXO', Stampin' Up! set called Oh, Goodie!, was stamped onto Whisper White card stock (cs) with Basic Gray ink.  Ink pad with the four colors was pressed directly onto stamped squares.
Finished images were then adhered with dimensionals.
Crystal Effects used on each image to add more dimensions and other worldly shine.

Large background
Background stamp, Chevron (SU!) was inked with different colors.
I then used Basic Gray ink on one side of the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I used the Kissing Technique of pressing the inked side of the folder onto the inked background stamp.  Then, I stamped onto my large Whisper White cs.
Different inks where then pressed onto stamped cs to fill in the white areas.

Basic Black cs used for card base, matte, and the pull/flip piece.
3 Basic Black Glitter Brads used.
Fibers from stash for pull end.
1" Circle punch to hold pull end fibers and brad.

In the last pic, I am going to write my message with the White Chalk marker.
All materials used are Stampin' Up! and are current unless otherwise noted.

Normally I would have tried something with a cat, but wanted to try those not so popular animals.  Dippy Duckz were just calling my name.  I tried a couple of 'cute' things, but....they all wanted to get dressed up for the big Halloween Pond Party over at Old McDonald's Farm.  Who am I to say no to that?

Smudgy Antics Color Challenge DT Project Week #2

Smudgy Antics is on Week #2 of the Color Challenge.
Get working on those wonderful ideas and enter your project.
The Design Team has some tasty eye candy for you today.
You must use at least 3 of the colors, which are:
Dark Grey, Magenta, Dark Green, Black, and Dark Orange.

I used 4 colors, Dark Grey, Magenta, Dark Green, and Black.
I  was inspired to make some candy holders, after seeing Day 7 of Croms' Cubby Hole, or Helen (second on the 31 Days of Halloween Wicked Blogger List).  I did not use TP rolls, but love the idea of these fun little candy holders.

I debated on putting the bat on or not, but went ahead in the spirit of the month.
So don't wimp out on that one scarey house while trick-or-treating...you know they have the best candy, the BIG chocolate bars!

Creaking Details

Candy Holders
One of Smeared Ink's new wonderful digital papers was used for the design on the boxes.  I used Red Butterfly from the Madame Butterfly set.  I used Picasso to change the color to Magenta and Dark Gray.  Then printed out on Whisper White card stock (CS).

I also used the digi set Calaveras from Smeared Ink.  It is hard to see but I used Sugar Skulls #3, #4 and the Candle.  I printed the images in black onto the same CS as before.

CS was cut in half and used with Candy Wrapper Die (retired) from Stampin' Up!.
Ends were colored in with Basic Gray ink and Aqua Painter.

I tied them all together with Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (SU!).

Front Image
Image is from one of the sets drawn by Rick St. Dennis for the Smeared Ink Rubber Club, called Haunted Places #2 - September 2013.  It is stamped in Black Staze On onto Whisper White cs.

31 DOH - Day 27 and Haunted Design House #178 and Left of Center #17 and Smeared & Smudeged Forum Challenges

You may have just came from Roni and are now at Shoni aka Crafty Inknik's Blog.  The Wicked Blogger list is to the left under my info. Next on the list is Jenn
If you need more info about this awesome event hosted by Smeared Ink and the Smeared and Smudged Forum, or to find out who the daily winners are click HERE, also Terra's Blog.  She is the first one on the Wicked Blogger List located to your left.

Yes, I was lucky enough to get a seedling, which I named Allen, from the infamous Audrey #2 and have been saving it all these years to plant just for your enjoyment.  As stated before in another post, good thing I have lots of body parts around, heheheee.....oops, gotta go!
(Yelling in background, "Feed Me Shoni!")

I had two inspirations for Allen.  The first is from the monthly challenges at the Smeared and Smudged Forum, Oh! The Horror! monthly challenge.  The movie planted the seed.  The next was a recently purchased image from the wonderful Rick St. Dennis at his new Zibbet shop.  This image watered my seed to helped it grow into my 31 Days of Halloween project today.  Don't worry I plan on showcasing that image in the near future.

Yup, another long one today!  On to the challenges I am entering Allen in.

Haunted Design House has their Challenge #178 - Zombies and Creeps going on for a short time.  You must see what the minions have created over there.  Dark, Gothic, or Hallowe'en is the standard and applied to the challenge of Zombies and Classic Creeps.  I consider Little Shop of Horrors a classic, with a classic giant mutant human eating plant. This musical is fantastic, with lots of entertainment and of course horror!

Left of Center Creative Challenges just opened #17 - Halloween or Creepy.  I believe that Allen falls in the creepy what about you?

The inspirational movie for the monthly Oh! The Horror! challenge at the Smeared and Smudged Forum was Aliens.  This is one of my all time favorite movies.  I was not sure how I was going to make a project, but it all fell into place over the month.  On my Allen, the shape of the head, teeth, and tongue, and the "alien" life form are what I used for my inspiration from this movie.

Today I have used punch art for my card.  Clowns are creepy and what would Halloween be without your monstrous Pennywise, or those Killer Klowns from outer space?  Just one of the those that you love to hate.  A dut, dut, doddle, doodle, dut, dut.....

31 DOH - Day 25 and Punk You Girl and Smeared & Smudged Forum and Chromatic Craze Challenges

You are now at Shoni aka Crafty Inknik's Blog.
Roni just shared and Jenn is next.
DAY 25 of the 31 Days of Halloween event.
To find out who the daily winners are click HERE, also Terra's Blog.  She is the first one on the Wicked Blogger List located to your left.

If you have not realized by now, I tend to have lots in posts.  Well this one is eeeexxxxtttaaaa loooooonnnngggg...so get ready.  There are many more photos of my project for today that will be in the later part of this post.  I will make them small so that you can scroll quickly.  You can click on pics to enlarge if you would like to take a close look.

It is Smeared Ink Friday, so only Smeared Ink images only on your project today for 31 Days of Halloween.  Which is also the challenge over at Smudgy Antics.  Get those stamps out and come and play.

Punk You Girl has their Halloween #5 theme challenge on til' the end of the month.  Great how one project can fit a number of challenges.  You need to check out the DT (design team) inspiration...wonderful!

Smeared and Smudged Forum has month long challenges as well.  Awesome themes and so much creativity over there, gotta join!  I am going to enter this in the Rock N Rolla Challenge.  This month is a song called Ava Adore by The Smashing Pumpkins.

Chromatic Craze is a challenge blog using a combo of colors for inspiration.  You must use 3 out of the four colors in your project.  Small amounts of other colors may be used.  This is Challenge #4 that I will be placing my project.  Check out the DT's work...they have done some fabulous pieces for this color challenge.

The project today is a Halloween themed Explosion Box.  I have used only Smeared Ink stamps from a past Smeared Ink Rubber Club offering, Morte (June 2013).  The song inspired me by all the different rooms and the cool weirdness throughout.  Also the main singer in every scene.  My main screaming head is seen from inside and out throughout all the different layers, sliders, and folds.

I pulled out the coveted Halloween paper and got down to business.  It is a lot of work, but once you get going they are so fun.  I think that I am going to try to collect pictures of all family members through out the years, looking creepy or funny or weird and place them in the box.  Only so I can hear others say "What's in the box?!" David Mills, Seven.
