Ike's World Challenges #35 DT Post

Ike's World Challenges is onto Challenge #35 - Things With Wings
Join in and enter your winged project to win!
Please see what the WEEK 2 projects are and get inspired.

For this challenge I have used many images from Ike's and you can find them at Ike's Art.  Ike is so nice that we, the DT, get some images that have not been released yet.  So do not fret, they may pop up in the store or can be a FREEBIE that Ike offers with each challenge.  Don't miss out!

Images you can find in the store on my scrapbook page are FACE ON, BOTTLE 4, and THOUGHTS.  Images that I have also used are Witches Cauldron and Not The Sistine Chapel Hands.

Bubbles of Details

Page is from Me & My Big Ideas.  Those witches crack me up!

All images were printed onto Whisper White card stock.
Each was fussy cut and pieced together.

Markers, inks, Aqua Painter, and Copics were used to color in images.
Gold Smooch was spritzed onto the swirl coming out of the cauldron.

Saying is from Macbeth by William Shakespeare:
    "Fillet of a fenny snake,
    In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
    Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
    Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble."

Words were redone in Word, printed out, cut out, and adhered to page.
Marker used to help define.

I have made a scrapbook page for my Design Team inspiration project using THE WIND

Chilled Details

I used the copy paper to cut out the pieces of hair so that I could trace them onto the different designer papers.

Desinger Papers are from a retired SU! set called Blueberry Crisp.

Once all the hair was in place and adhered down, I used inks, markers, and Aqua Painter to color in rest of the image.

Finished image was fussy cut and adhered onto 12" x 12" page.

Ike's World Challenges Week 2

One more week to get your hilarious entries into this Challenge #31 - Make Us Laugh at Ike's World Challenges.
Team B is up for this Week 2 reminder and inspiration.  Please see what my wonderful teamies have created for you...funny stuff!

I have made a card using a handsome image from Ike's Art called Night Stranger.  I saw this quote on Pinterest and had to laugh because I have mini-van, but not the stick figures.  It cracked me up and so inspired my card.

Ike's World Challenges - Week 2 Challenge #30 and HDH - JanWNP? Challenge

What??
Yes, I have finally got my post on the right day...it is a new year!

Welcome to Week 2 of Challenge #30 - SKETCH here at Ike's World Challenges.

Get your Challenge #30 entries in HERE and see Week 1 inspiration of this sketch if you missed it.

I love doing sketch and color challenges and this one was so fun using Ike's images.  We as the Design Team are sometimes super lucky to get to use images designed by Ike that are not in the her shop, Ike's Art.  Which was the case with this challenge.  Links will be provided for those images you can purchase and if you would like the others...well be sure to answer the next DT call!

The project for this Sketch challenge is a notebook.  I have used the images HOLLY FAIRY and ZOMBIE PET SHOP 2, images not in the shop:  Xmas Star, Sall's Eagle, and Stable Doors.

I am a huge fan of all kinds of cats.  So happy Ike has a lot of choices.  These Zombie Cats are one of my favs.  Found out that there is an Egyptian Goddess of domestic cats, Bastet.  So this is dedicated to her and to all domestics, alive and dead.

As you may or may not know, Haunted Design House has changed their bi-weekly challenges into monthly challenges.  This January the challenge is What's New Pussycat?  And can be interpreted as we would like.  So I am using my kitty fetish from this project to enter into HDH's challenge as well.

Ike's World Challenges Week 2, HDH Jan Challenge, PYG Jan Challenge

I apologize for this post not posting on the correct day.  For some reason it was ready to post for February.  Ho hum, yep, the mind is truly going.

Get over to Ike's World Challenges!  Such wonderful projects by the DT from Week 1 and Week 2.  This Challenge #29 Something Old / Something New is waiting just for you.  Get those projects in by Monday the 19th and win...

I will be using two of Ike's images, VAMP and NEW SHOES, which can be found at Ike's Art.  One of them is also this #29 Challenge FREEBIE!!
When I saw NEW SHOES, the first thing that popped into my head was little girl who was sad that she got her new shoes dirty...with blood!  You know me, always on the dark side.
Then I knew she reminded me of Claudia from 'Interview with a Vampire', and so my art journal page was born.
She and her shoes are something new, and the vampire who created her is something old.

I will also be entering this page into the January Challenges:
Haunted Design House January Challenge, "What's New Pussycat?"
Punk You Girl January Challenge "Anything Goes"

Cleaning Up the Deets

Sponge with Dylusions and Maya Mist sprays used to make background on page.

Vamp and New Shoes images were printed onto Whisper White card stock.
Each was colored in with inks, Aqua Painter, and markers.

Vamp was sponge around cut edges.
New Shoes was fussy cut.
Each was adhered onto page, then sponges around to highlight.

Saying was altered with a font in word, printed onto copy paper, cut, and adhered to page.
"A little child she was but also a fierce killer now capable of the ruthless persuit of blood, with a child's demanding."

Well Hello!

The Design Team has some fair weather inspiration for you and don't forget to check back in one week for more.  Challenge #13 is Spring into Spring.  There are prizes to be won with every new challenge so get your creative mind to work and show us your entry.  An Ike's Art image must be used in your entry to be eligable for the prize.

The images from Ike's Art that I have used for this Spring challenge are Here's Kitty and Winter Robin.  This card fold is called the 4 Fold.  Each flap flips open a different way to reveal the inside.

As you may have seen in past projects, I just love cats.  They are so fun in real life and for my projects.  My cats have been waiting for better weather and are ready to get outside.  Just like this anxious kitty in my card.

Let Me At Em' Deets

Card base, flaps, and cut feathers on front are Basic Black card stock.

Blog Hop Roll

I don't do Straight

CARPE DIEM from Ike's Art is the image I was lucky enough to work with.  Please check below the pictures to find out more about my scrapbook page.  Thanks and have fun on the hop!

NO FLASH

FLASH

Unsightly Half Truth's of Details

Layout for this 12" x 12" page was inspired by the Very Sketchy Challenge over at the Smeared and Smudged Forum.

Designer paper is from Me & My Big Ideas.

Carpe Diem, from Ike's Art, was printed out onto Whisper White card stock two times.
I colored in image with markers and Blender Pen.  I also went over drawn lines with fine tip Sharpie to high light her beautiful facial features.

Rose was colored and fussy cut from a smaller print out I had done.  This was then placed with a dimensional over the larger printed rose, which was also colored around the edges.

Finger nails and dots along left side of head are Black Ranger Accents.

Crystal Effects on rose with glitter sprinkled over.

Medium Jewel Rhinestone in center of eye.

Once Carpe Diem image was dry, I placed on Basic Black card stock and fussy cut around already cut image.

Wings are stamped in Black Staze On and from a Smeared Ink Rubber Club past offering stamp set called Quoth The Raven (February 2013).  I fussy cut and adhere to back of cut head.

Scallop die cuts used for the layers behind main Carpe Diem image.  A doily (SU!) was cut in half and placed on opposite sides behind scallop layers.

Background
Top left corner is a Scrap Paper Background Technique that I followed all the way through with both White and Black Gesso over designer paper strips.  I cut up and place at odd angles to give more texture.
Satin Black Ribbon (retired SU!) on the diagonal.

On the lower area of page, I sponged Cherry Cobble ink randomly around.
I had also made a coffee filter rose, which I dabbed White Gesso on and used it to make the white rose  prints randomly on page.
A ruler and Silver marker to make vertical lines randomly on page, and also thicker to make the 3 horizontal lines under saying.
Saying is written with black Sharpie.  I then went over words with Crystal Effects and sprinkled glitter over.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

"Believe only half of what you see and nothing that you hear."

Ike's World Challenges - DT Project for Challenge #9

I hope you have Ike's World Challenges on your blog list.  There are some fab challenges, wonderful inspiration from our Design Team AND Ike is offering a FREE image for you to design with!  Join in the challenges and win a great prize, you just have to use an image from Ike's Art or the free one to be able to claim the prize.  Check it out.

For my Ike's World Challenges Design Team project, I have made a door/wall hang.  Challenge #9 is Anything Goes.  I used the image Shelf Kat, which was the free image for a previous challenge.

My son love cats.  He got a book called I Could Pee on This - And other Poems by Cats, by Francesco Marciuliano, for Christmas.  We sat one afternoon and read some, and LOVED them.  We have 3 cats and have always had a cat.  So, reading these poems, by cats, was hilarious.  So the book title and the poem inspired this project.

Soiled Details

I printed out Shelf Kat 4 times.
Fussy cut and with each layer, I cut off a piece of Kat.  This is to add dimension and got this technique from Ike herself.
Each layer of Shelf Kat was colored in with inks and an Aqua Painter.
I adhered layers with dimensions.
Crystal Effects on the eyes, nose, and inside ears.
Marker for the Poem, hand written.
Aqua Painter to make the sploches on background.
Gold Smooch Shimmer Spritz on background as well.

Card stock layers for base are Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, then Whisper White (what Shelf Kat is on).

Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon, Gold Bakers Twine, and an orange Bakers Twine (from scraps) for hand and ribbon.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Ike's World Challenges - #8 New Year and New Beginnings

End of the year is upon us and I have had the best year meeting new and wonderfully creative and talented people.

I am enjoying my time as a Design Team Member for Ike's World Challenges and all the great images at Ike's Art.  The challenges and inspiration from my fellow team members is amazing.  Please stop by and check out this round of creative projects.

I tend to lean to the darker side of this world and so did my project for this #8 Challenge of New Year and New Beginnings.  I have been experimenting with a small Art Journal and have been having a blast.  My project is a page for that Art Journal using one of Ike's Art fab images called Scheheredaze.

 Will post details soon...

Ike's World Challenge #7 - Winter is Coming DT Project

Here we go for Ike's World Challenges...it is Challenge #6 - Winter Is Coming.
I just love how Ike drew these hands and those killer nails!  I made a hang and will eventually have a total of 4 that represent all transitioning seasons.  This came out better than I imagined and I had so much fun creating this hang.

Now, remember that in order to win any prizes for Ike's World Challenges, you must use one of Ike's images from Ike's Art somewhere in your project.  We would love to see your creations! Go and get crafty.

Again I apologize for the flash, it lost the gold (on left) and silver (on right) spritzing that added an extra shimmer to the background.

Here is my offering and hopefully some inspiration for you on the upcoming Winter season and this challenge at Ike's World Challenges.

Passing onto the Deets

I printed the image, NOT the Sistine Chapel, in a blue and dark orange color with my tools on my photo editor.  Then once more on copy paper to use as a mask for the negative and a mask for the hand.

Normally I would have tried something with a cat, but wanted to try those not so popular animals.  Dippy Duckz were just calling my name.  I tried a couple of 'cute' things, but....they all wanted to get dressed up for the big Halloween Pond Party over at Old McDonald's Farm.  Who am I to say no to that?

IKE'S WORLD CHALLENGES - Challenge #3, Anything Goes and Musically Challenged Challenge

Looking for Day 15 for the 31 Days of Halloween?   Next post please!

That is heading is correct!  Anything Goes for Challenge #3 here at Ike's World Challenges.  The Design Team members have used one of Ike's wonderful images from her shop to create our projects for this challenge.  There are such a variety and each DT has done a fabulous job.  Please check out each, get inspired, get to Ike's Shop, and create something!

I have used Wolf 3 to make my 12" x 12"  scrapbook page today.  Two things inspired this page.  One, my son is starting Boy Scouts and is in the Wolf pack.  Two, Musically Challenged blog has Bark at the Moon by Ozzy, Challenge #11.  "...create something inspired by the song, the name, the video, a character, a feeling you get from the video...anything! good luck!"

I wanted to create a pack of strong and confident wolves walking in the moonlight and mist.  Eventually I will add my sons' pic and the rest of his fellow pack members to the page.  For the song, main 'wolf' has a hard time accepting what he has become.  In the end he walks away and I believe, knowing that he is now accepting that part of him.  So again the strong and confident wolves that know who they are.  BTW, Team Jacob!!

Howl It Out Deets
I printed out Wolf 3 image onto copy paper and fussy cut.
Inks and Aqua Painter to color in each.  Then used Log Cabin Smooch Spritz to help add some texture.  Went over once more with markers and Aqua Painter to give a bit more detail and depth.  Added a bit of yellow to backs for light from the moon.
Small Pearl Jewels for eyes.

Background is on Whisper White 12" x 12" card stock.
Cut out moon from scrap paper and places into corner.
Used Brayer and 3 blues to ink background.
Removed moon scrap and added ink to make yellow.
Used scrap paper and Basic Gray ink with sponge to make clouds.
Ink up a template from The Crafters Workshop called Branches with Early Espresso ink.
Placed on page and used Brayer to press ink from template on page.
Aqua Painter and light blue ink to mix in brayered lines and give mist look.
Whole page was spritzed with Gold Smooch Spritz.
All materials are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Ike's World Challenge - Awareness

I am very happy, for the next 3 months, to be part of the new Ike's World Challenge Design Team.  I hope to bring you more creativity from the fun challenges that will be offered every 2 weeks.
Ike's World Challenges is a new blog but lets get it here to stay.

Please check out Ike's Art Shop for images to play along with us.  There is a wide variety and I know that Santa is calling my name!  Check out the shop to see what I mean, heheheeee.  You can click the links here on this post, or there are some buttons on the right side that will get you there also.

Be sure to check out all the new design team members because I know that they have created some wonderful projects for you.

Here we go!  We were all given the same image to create with and it is simply stunning.  This month is Breast Cancer Awareness, which is the theme for this image and for the 2 week Challenge.  This is also Challenge #2 - Awareness.

When I printed this out I was a little stumped on what to create.  I saw how beautifully drawn the image was and wanted to show her off.  If you know me, I am a ribbon hoarder and hate to use it.  But, this image had to use some and I am so happy with how it ended up.  My Awareness poster:

Posted Details

Sweet lady is printed onto an 81/2" x 11" Whisper White card stock.  She is fussy cut and place on a Basic Black card stock.

Ribbon was adhered before placing finished lady.  All ribbon on background is Stampin' Up! and sorry to say but retired as well.  Ribbon on front is current and is called Primrose Petals, 3/8" Stitched Satin.  I used an Exacto knife on each side of her wrist and ran the ribbon through.

A friend of mine let me use some of her cutting dies with the two floral designs that I used on her.   I apologize because I did not ask where or who they were by.  One was more plant like, on her face and hand.  The other had the image of the butterfly and flowers, her neck, shoulders, and front.

I placed the cut images over the open areas and used a Stipple Brush and inks (Blushing Bride & Smoky Slate) to add images to her.

The Blushing Bride ink was used with an Aqua Painter and then marker to color in her ear, eyes, lips and fingernails.
A little bit of Smoky Slate, applied with Aqua Painter, on eyes and eyebrows.

Basic Black ink is sponged on all sides of cut image.

Hard to see in pic but poster is really hanging up.

All materials used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

NEW! Ike's World Challenges

Eeek!!  I thought I had until tomorrow to get this in, but now I am down to 1 hour and 20 minutes!!  EEST time zone is not the same as EST zone.  So be aware and make sure you check your link times for those deadlines on any challenge.

Now, a wonderful new challenge blog has just been created.  Ike's World Challenges Blog is another great way to challenge yourself, see what others are creating, get more inspiration, and just have a great time getting crafty.

Ike also has a shop called Ike's Art.  Click on the link to find great artistic digital images.  There are quite a few so take some time and enjoy browsing.  There is a wide variety for everyone.

On to the First Ike's World Challenge!  We were able to download a FREE digital image for the use of this first challenge.  The image is called 'Fashionista'.  With this image or any of Ike's other images, we played a little Tic Tac Toe.
I chose to use the Tag, Doily, and Ribbon column.
My niece, who is 6, has some of the best outfits and is quite sassy herself.  I am going to print out small pictures of her in her stunning outfits.  The tags will be photo mats as well as the open areas on the page.

The Do's and Don'ts
Page is 8" x 8" on Crushed Curry card stock.
Border is from Delicious Doodles called Gargoyle Frame.  I printed onto copy paper and fussy cut.  Mini Silver Brads were used on eyes and doily.
Crushed Curry marker is on frame, boots, main image eyes, and letters in saying.
Background pattern paper is from stash and is by Bo Bunny.
