Ike's World Challenges - Week 2 Challenge #30 and HDH - JanWNP? Challenge

What??
Yes, I have finally got my post on the right day...it is a new year!

Welcome to Week 2 of Challenge #30 - SKETCH here at Ike's World Challenges.

Get your Challenge #30 entries in HERE and see Week 1 inspiration of this sketch if you missed it.

I love doing sketch and color challenges and this one was so fun using Ike's images.  We as the Design Team are sometimes super lucky to get to use images designed by Ike that are not in the her shop, Ike's Art.  Which was the case with this challenge.  Links will be provided for those images you can purchase and if you would like the others...well be sure to answer the next DT call!

The project for this Sketch challenge is a notebook.  I have used the images HOLLY FAIRY and ZOMBIE PET SHOP 2, images not in the shop:  Xmas Star, Sall's Eagle, and Stable Doors.

I am a huge fan of all kinds of cats.  So happy Ike has a lot of choices.  These Zombie Cats are one of my favs.  Found out that there is an Egyptian Goddess of domestic cats, Bastet.  So this is dedicated to her and to all domestics, alive and dead.

As you may or may not know, Haunted Design House has changed their bi-weekly challenges into monthly challenges.  This January the challenge is What's New Pussycat?  And can be interpreted as we would like.  So I am using my kitty fetish from this project to enter into HDH's challenge as well.

Smudgefest 2014 Day 2 & Oh!TH! August

See what Smudgefest 2014 is all about here starting with Day 1.
Today's Day 2 Challenge is Terrifying Tuesday - Showcase a project using your favorite scarey image.

I have chosen the head from a Smeared Ink digi set called Gross Anatomy.  I am showcasing a book/notebook that was also inspired from the Oh! The Horror! Challenge for the month of August at the Smeared and Smudged Forum.

The challenge has you create a project inspired from a movie, which is World War Z.  The whole world is affected and the main character must infect himself with the zombie disease in order to save the last of the human population.  This movie was also based off a great novel by Max Brooks.

This is a notebook for charting the disease and how it is taking control of the human body.  See the pulsing infected veins and the last bit of humanity in the eye?  Lets hope all the books being written and science can save us from a Zombie Apocalypse!

Aurora Wings #5 and Punk You Girl #14 Challenges

A lot of fun joining in the challenges this month.  Today I have made a flower notebook featuring a wonderfully digi stamp from Aurora Wings.  This project will be entered into the current challenge, #5 Sprite Delight - Use an Aurora Wings Sprite.   I have chosen the Day of the Dead Marigold Sprite and was sooo happy with how she turned out.  I only hope that my coloring is acceptable since the inspiration and talent of the Design Team over there is beyond fabulous.

I have also decided to enter this notebook into the Punk You Girl Challenge.  I was not sure, but I do believe that they are now accepting all kinds of projects and not only cards.  If I am mistaken, please forgive.  The Challenge #14 is Skeletons and Secrets.  I may be reaching with the Day of the Dead sprite, but hey if you don't enter, you don't win.  Please check out their Design Team, who also have put out their best for the rest of us.

DAY 5 of Smudgefest

I apologize for not including any links.   I came home today to find that my husband moved the majority of our room,  which included all computers.  I am attempting this post with my phone so hopefully this will work.   Remember that card for the bi-polar challenge?   Really feeling the red and blue sides.

I will revise this and probably tomorrow's post, hopefully by Monday.   I am not including deets but will put them in when I revise.

DAY 5 CHALLENGE - Flowing Friday - create a project using a flowing medium.

This was a challenge.   I started my main image this morning but was not happy with it.   Left the rest for when I got back and had all day to get an idea of what I wanted to do.

I started with my Aqua Painter and watercolor paper to start the flowing medium background.   I wanted to attempt a shadowy figure reaching out.   I reworked and reworked and then had to set aside because it was not coming out how I wanted it to.

I moved on to try something else.   On a silicone mat I squeezed Crystal Effects onto it and moved it around to make drips, use of liquid glues.   Then added Tombow glue to give a little more texture and color.   I set this aside to dry and left the house for the day.

When I got back,  I ended up using both of these ideas and turned them into a note book.
I used the stamp sets from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.
