Don't forget that you can win daily prizes by going through the Wicked Bloggers (on <----- left side) and find a different hidden image each day on different blogs.  Click HERE to find about clues and how to enter.

Thank you all so much for your too nice comments and so appreciate the time you took to have a peek, and be the peeper that I know you are!

You may have just arrived from Wicked Blogger Kapree and are now here at Shoni/Crafty Inknik.  The next fabulous blog is Altered Pages.

This project will also be entered into the Challenge #11 - Anything Goes over at the blog A Step In The Dark.

The project I have today is an altered yo-yo.  The kids have carnivals at school and so I have collected some cute Halloween toys.  Now, we all know that cute is not quite the style I am going for this time of year, or anytime of year come to think of it!  So had to alter this sweet pumpkin yo-yo to an evil pumpkin yo-yo.

Rockin' the Cradle w/ these Deets

Image is from Smeared Ink called Ghoulipop.  This image was a freebie for one of the days in last years Smudgefest.
Images was printed out 4 times and fussy cut.
2 images were colored in with Aqua Painter, inks and markers.

Eyes are medium sized Pearl Jewels gone over with Red Sharpie.
Finished images were then adhered to yo-yo with Red Sticky Strip and gone over with Crystal Effects.

Yo-yo edges were covered with White Gesso and let dry.
Washi Tape around to help give some color.
'halloween' saying is a stamp from Smeared Ink rubber set called Creepy Lil' Grumpies (Aug 2013).  You can find more rubber stamp sets in the Rubber Club Past Offerings.
Saying was stamped with Archival Ink Black around edges on both sides of yo-yo.
Crystal Effects also around and on each sides.

Black Twine for string.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! (SU!) unless otherwise noted.

Smeared Ink DT Monthly Blog Hop & ASiD #8

SMEARED INK DESIGN TEAM
BLOG ROLL

Shoni - Crafty Inknik (YOU ARE HERE)

This month the Smeared Ink Design Team had the theme VINTAGE.
Please be sure to stop by each blog and share your thoughts.
We have some wonderful projects for you today and to get you all in the crafting mood!
To see more fab work by our team please check out the free Smeared and Smudged Forum.  We would love to see you there.

I have created a vintage box with a great little topper that I have altered from one of my kids old toys.  I believe that this was from a Happy Meal from McDonalds.
The Smeared Ink sets I have used are:
Circus Procession Digital Set
Jack (May 2014) - Rubber Club Past Offerings
Carnies (Dec 2013) - Rubber Club Past Offerings

This project will also be entered into A Step In The Dark blog challenge:

SIDE 2

Hurry, Hurry, Hurry for the Deets

Digital stamps from Cirus were resized and printed out onto Very Vanilla card stock.
Mixture of inks, water, and alcohol inks to add aging to images, randomly on box, tickets, ribbon, cloths pin, bakers twine, watch trinket, and doily.
Images were fussy cut, sponged with inks around edges and then adhered to finish box.

Box
Box was made with WeR Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board.  It measures 4" x 4" x 4".
Paper is from Me & My Big Ideas.
Gold Encore ink for stamped stars.
Cajun Craze ink for words.
All edges are sponged with ink.
Alcohol ink for random sploches.
Gold Smooch Spritz on all sides and top.
Topper Body
Found a great tutorial on Split Coast Stampers using foil papers to make chipboard or 3D items vintage.  It called for foil paper already w/ the sticky stuff on the back, which I did not have.  I used average foil from my kitchen and sticky strip.
Toy was covered with sticky strip and cut up foil pieces.

Black Gesso over entire covered toy.  Let dry.
Holtz Alocohol inks (Butterscotch & Latte) and Blending Solution with sponge over entire toy.  This helped take off some of the Gesso and color the foil.
Added some Lava Red Inka Gold Metallic Rub for a bit more color.

Head is a digital stamp resized and printed twice and fussy cut.
Adhered together, sponged around edges, used alcohol inks to give a bit of color, and then Crystal Effects.

Extras
Collar is Chantilly Crochet Trim Ribbon (retired).
Metal button is a brad from stash.
Cloths pin has washi tape and was inked and sponged.
Tickets are from stash and inked up and distressed.
Safety pin is from stash.
Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine which was inked.
Metal Clock from Tea Time Trinkets (retired) was also inked.
Doily
Sewing pattern for layer on top of Doily.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
