I love the dark side of all our wonderful nursery rhymes and Peter the Pumpkin Eater is no different. I have heard many morbid alternatives to the "real" story behind this poem. I choose the one where the cheating wife gets dismembered and is stuffed/hidden in a pumpkin.
So watch out for those "carving" accidents this Halloween. You may never know what is hiding in those flickering eyes of those pumpkins...
Once again running late and will post the details this afternoon...

ReplyDeleteGreat tag, love the bloody handprints. Fab image too.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with the pumpkin head! The poem on the back, reminds me so much of Jack Nicholson's typed page in the Shining with the "All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy"! Twisted for sure! Bloody paw prints are scary.....for sure!
