Day 20 - 31 Days and HDH

You may have just arrived from the spook-ster Wicked Blogger Kapree and are now here at Shoni / Crafty Inknik.  The next terror-iffic blog is Altered Pages.

DAY 20 OF 31 DAYS OF HALLOWEEN

The Wicked Blogger Roll is on the left side bar <-------
Scavenger hunt rules and guidelines can be found HERE for 31 Days of Halloween.
My book mark today will also be entered into Haunted Design House Macabre Monday Challenge:
I love the dark side of all our wonderful nursery rhymes and Peter the Pumpkin Eater is no different.  I have heard many morbid alternatives to the "real" story behind this poem.  I choose the one where the cheating wife gets dismembered and is stuffed/hidden in a pumpkin.
So watch out for those "carving" accidents this Halloween.  You may never know what is hiding in those flickering eyes of those pumpkins...

Once again running late and will post the details this afternoon...

HDH and S&S Junk Funk July Challenges

Haunted Design House Macabre Monday Challenge is onto the end of its second week.  I have tried a couple of ideas, but did not work out.  SO I put it aside and moved on.  Then this morning was commenting on some blogs and was re-inspired by an HDH and my fellow Smeared Ink Design Team member.  Thanks Creepy Glowbugg!

The challenge is EERIE INSPIRATION.  There are 9 images that were given.
PLEASE go by and leave some love for the HDH DT's there is some amazing inspiration.

I am also placing my hang in the July Smeared and Smudged Forum Challenge, Junk Funk.  This month, NEWSPAPER must be used somewhere in your project.

My Cracklin' Deets

Found this angel at a garage sale.
Covered leaves with Black Gesso.
Covered angel with White Gesso.
Hard to see wings, but left them plain as with sash and hair...with the exception of my messy application on other parts.
Once body was dry added Crackle Distress by Ranger.

Eyes were filled in with Black Accents by Ranger.  Then gone over with White Gesso and a paper piercer to blend.
Black fine tip sharpie to make pointy nails on feet.

Some leaves are also covered with Crystal Effects.
Skellie head from online, purchased as a string of skulls.  Black Accents on eyes.

Cymbals in hands have skeletons fussy cut from a Rick St. Dennis digital stamp called Basket of Skulls.
Each was adhered on, Crystal Effects over and then for texture clear microbeads.
Black Gesso around edges.

Flower is a Framelit Die from set Floral Frames.
Newspaper flowers where then spritzed with Dylusions Spray Ink and home made mixture spritz.

White backing is Waffle Paper (retired SU!).
Used a piece of cardboard for backing base.  White Gesso around edges and front.
White Organza Ribbon for the hang.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Haunted Design House #180 Challenge

Lucky 13 and Haunted Design House is back with their awesome challenges!
I hear that there is new minion in the dungeon...wonder what happened to the last one...I'm sure they are okay...
Better get over there to see the wicked new DT and great inspiration for this new challenge.

Macabre Monday Challenge #180 - Fresh Blood.  Great way to start out the new year with some fresh blood.  Interpret this as you may, but it's got to be creepy, dark, and downright evil.  My kind of challenge!

I have made a card, yes another one, with a background from my new home made gelli plate, yes another one.  There will be more people, cause I went a little craZy this weekend.  I try to make each one different so please check out the details below.

Image, Zombie Cat Dragger,  is from Rick St. Dennis and I believe that this zombie use to to cook for a Chinese restaurant.  Stop your moan cause you  know its true!!  heheeee....

Cat Rangoon Ingredients

Card base is Pumpkin Pie card stock.
Card front is WhisKer, oops...Whisper White card stock with Acrylic Paint layers from my home made gelli plate.

White Gesso on center of card front and also on printed image of chef Zombie Cat Dragger.  Place image down on card front and let dry.
Once image was dry, used a wash cloth and water to get rid of excess card stock.

Colored image with markers and Sharpies.
Printed out image twice onto Vellum Paper.  Fussy cut one full image and adhered to one on card from with Crystal Effects.
Colored image with Sharpies.

Wrote words and colored in with pen.
Versa Mark ink over entire page.
Clear Embossing Powder over page and heat set (you can see this better in the Flash Pic below).

Fussy cut and diced off head, arm, and kitty from second printed image on Vellum Paper.  Again adhered with Crystal Effects.
Went over once more with Sharpies.

Red Maya Mist Spritz on fingers then applied randomly around main image.
Used a poker tool to scratch marks in the dried red ink.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Haunted Design House Challenge 170

The  Haunted Design House  (HDH) has one of the hardest challenges for me yet.  This one took a lot of time and thought to do.  Maybe it was the number, who knows!

Challenge 170 - Unlucky For Some

Here are the House rules:
"You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Hallowe'en
based art piece with a total of thirteen components.
No more. No less. Thirteen pieces total.
If you make a card, the base counts as one. If you use multiple
dps, they each count as one. If you use six brads,  they count as six. Catch my drift?"

For this challenge I was so glad to have such great inspiration and lights at the end of the tunnel.  Go and see what the talented Design Team over at HDH has created for this challenge, HERE and HERE.

I have finally finished my entry, on the last day of course!  Listed below my card, Under The Sea, are the 13 items I used.

13 ITEMS used to make my card:
Whisper White cardstock (cs) - Base
Elegant Eggplant cs - Matte/frame
Watercolor Paper - main front

Elegant Eggplant Classic Ink Pad
Aqua Painter

Versa Mark Ink Pad
White Embossing Powder
Heat Gun - I counted this as an item because I had to melt the embossing powder.  So, heat was used on the card.
Octopet - stamp

Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz
Crystal Effects -  only on main Octopet
2 - Pearl Jewels - medium for eyes
