Sparkle & Glitter w/ RSD Part 2, SBBC#75, and LOC #73

I just so happened to get my Part 1 done over at Sparkle and Glitter the Rick St. Dennis EDT Blog in March for the Progressive Challenge that happens for 2 months.  And, was able to get Part 2, for April, done as well...woooohooooo for me!  It is a first!

For those of you who do not know, for Part 1 you must enter the challenge using one of Rick's super incredible images.  There are over 1,000!  And for all types of creativity as well.  For Part 2, if you get your project in on time, you get a FREE image to use for Part 2.  This month was a sweet little thang named Aloha Nui.

I love going to the dollar store and found these magnet boards for sale.  Of course had to buy a bunch and have used....3, including the project for this challenge.  So what if I've had them over 4 years...THEY ARE GETTING USED!

Now, I am not so cutesy cutesy but had a fun time creating and coloring with this image.  I am also going to enter this into:
Suzy Bee Bloomin' Challenge Blog  - #75 Add Some Spring Flowers
Left of Center - #73 Spots and/or Stripes

Lei'n on the Deets

Image was printed onto Whisper White card stock.
She was colored in with Copic's and Spectrum Noir's.
Only her body was gone over with Crystal Effects.
Hard to see but light glitter on the flower ends in her hair.
She was fussy cut and made into a magnet.

Magnet Board Background

I used Holtz Butterscotch Alcohol ink and blender tool with a The Crafters Workshop stencil for yellow design in upper left area.

Another The Crafters Workshop stencil to make the circles with a green Spectrum Noir marker.

Flowers are stamped with Ranger Black ink and are from a SU! set called Everything Eleanor.
They are colored in with a blue Spectrum Noir marker.

Yellow flowers are stamped with Yellow StazeOn ink.  Stamp is from SU! set called Summer Silhouettes.

Orange StazeOn ink stamped with stamp from set called Gorgeous Grunge (SU!).

Forest Green StazeOn ink used with an edging stamp (along right side) from SU! set, Chalk Lines.

The word 'month' and days of the week gone over with dark grey Spectrum Noir marker.

Magnet from stash and used Sticky Strip to hold in place.

LOC - #49 - Alter Something
Oh! The Horror! - Sleepy Hollow (insp. by movie/poster)

I was watching Sleepy Hollow (1999) last night and inspiration struck.  I love Burton's use of the gray/black color scheme in this movie.  Then, of course, all the heads that disappear.  I thought about adding bits of red, but for once held myself back, and happy I did.

I have altered a dry erase/magnet board to turn it into only a magnet board.  If any headless person(s) are looking for some skellie heads this Halloween, come on over, I've got a few!

BEFORE

AFTER

Dig, Dig, Dig, for the Deets

Started my altering by using brush and Black Gesso over entire board, which measures 13" x 13"...It was meant to be!

Once board was dry, I found an old cardboard skellie head stencil that I had made awhile ago.
I did have to cut out the bottom to create the teeth.  Use the extra piece for a little handle which was taped down.

Found my long lost glow in the dark paint, called GloAway (cute name!) and with brush put it onto stencil.
Pushed onto board 9x in different directions.  Let dry.

Next, stamping commenced!  Used set created by Rick St. Dennis for Smeared Ink Rubber Club called Morte (June 2013).
Skellie background stamp used as border and stamped with Silver Encore Ink.
Two heads w/ bone image was stamped randomly with Black Archival Ink.

Found 2 magnet clips and glued hand and foot to each.  Pieces are from stash.

Had a bracelet with skelli heads which I took apart.  Heads were adhered with large glue dot to magnet circles.
Thought it would be killer to have the skellie eyes glow in the dark, so put a dab of the GloAway in all the eyes.
