Blog Hop Roll

Shoni aka Crafty Inknik - YOU ARE HERE

Ike
Lisa

I have made a little Love Note Notebook for today's entry.  I would have loved this in my teen angst years...okay who am I kidding, I love it NOW!  Nothing like jotting my husbands' demise or quick notes down on some bloody hearts.  And the best thing is that I can always print out more paper when I run out!  Enjoy today's hop and I so appreciate your kind, funny, and wonderful comments.

My second project is a hang, Clutching Love, I have done for Ike's World Challenges Day 2 of the Hop.  I just love her hand images, which of course can be found at Ike's Art.   More details about this project below.

Murderous Thoughts and Unsavory Deets

Love Note Notebook

Heart front and back covers are from The Octopode Factory.  Image is from a set called Edgar Allen Poe.
Image is printed onto Whisper White card stock.  Markers and inks with Aqua Painter to color in.  I spritzed the marker areas with water and let run to give the bleeding look.
Used Clear Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint by Ranger over bottom 3/4's of heart.  I wanted to leave the top clean to make it look like the top part of heart was being squeezed, so no cracks.

Paper is from a Smeared Ink digital set called Poe Boy.  I did alter it a bit with my Picasso program to make it just a tad lighter so that I could write on it.
I printed out on both sides of copy paper.
Cut out heart shape and used Crop-a-dile to make circle punches to hold my office rings.
Distressed edges and inked with Cherry Cobbler to make edges of pages look bloody.  Spritzed with water to make inked edges bleed and more crumply.

Backsides of covers is another digital paper from Poe Boy.
Printed onto copy paper and adhered to back of covers.

Crop-a-dile for punched holes on covers.
Linen Thread for wrap around hearts on covers.
Marker on thread to make bloody.

Clutching Love Hang

This was an evolving piece that I was even surprised at how it ended up.

HANDS
Hands are from Ike's Art, called I Want You.  I printed out twice, then flipped the image and printed out again.
Inks, markers, and Aqua Painter to color hands.  Fussy cut and adhered the pairs together.
Since the fad is to color one fingernail a different color, I used Black Ranger Accents on the pointer fingers.  Then Cherry Cobbler to color in the rest of nails then added Crystal Effects for shine and dimension.
Netting background stamp (SU!) over all sides of hands to give some more texture.

HEART CENTER
I cut out two hearts from Cherry Cobber cardstock.  Smushed and crumpled, inked and sponged.  Tore the top heart in the center and added designer paper from stash in tear.
Layered back heart, hands, Sweater Trim Ribbon, and top heart.  All adhered with Sticky Strip.
Added Crystal Effects to tear in heart for blood drips.

HANGING HEARTS
Hanging hearts are fussy cut hands from another Ike's Art image, Face On.    When I first saw this image I immediately saw the hands and how they could make a bone shaped heart.
The image was printed out as big as I could two times.
Hands were fussy cut and adhered together.
A small heart punch was used with the extra scrap paper, same as in main heart, and dental floss to hang from center of bone hands heart.
I tried to make Crystal Effects blood drips with re-inkers, but used too much re-inker.  So just smeared what I had randomly on bone hands. (Shown in above picture on silicone sheet.)
Did make super small hand drawn hearts in between open areas of images with fine tip black Sharpie.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

  10. Two fangtastic projects! You crack me up with your "jotting my husband's demise"! I knew there was a reason I love you :) You are so creative. I'd love to spend a day inside your head, or not. I may have nightmares and end up in the asylum. Hell, I'm half way there already so I may as well take the leap. LOL.
