RnRAugS&SF and SoSS #15

Lots of pics on this project.  A mini family album inspired by the Rock N' Rolla August Challenge and Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Vintage seems to be the theme this week so I will roll w/ it!  On the Smeared and Smudged Forum the Rock N' Rolla Challenge this month is the video The Fox by Ylvis.  It features lots of people dressed as animals or have animal heads.  Found some fabulous photo shop images of vintage images with animal heads on dressed up bodies.

I found so many and wanted to include all the images.  So a mini family album tutorial was just what I came up with.  K is for Kraft - Challenge #15 is offered over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and just perfect for this project.

Get ready for lots of pics.  I did end up moving the "f" from one of the pictures because it was being covered by the lid.

Smeared Ink DT Monthly Blog Hop & ASiD #8

SMEARED INK DESIGN TEAM
BLOG ROLL

Shoni - Crafty Inknik (YOU ARE HERE)

This month the Smeared Ink Design Team had the theme VINTAGE.
Please be sure to stop by each blog and share your thoughts.
We have some wonderful projects for you today and to get you all in the crafting mood!
To see more fab work by our team please check out the free Smeared and Smudged Forum.  We would love to see you there.

I have created a vintage box with a great little topper that I have altered from one of my kids old toys.  I believe that this was from a Happy Meal from McDonalds.
The Smeared Ink sets I have used are:
Circus Procession Digital Set
Jack (May 2014) - Rubber Club Past Offerings
Carnies (Dec 2013) - Rubber Club Past Offerings

This project will also be entered into A Step In The Dark blog challenge:

Hurry, Hurry, Hurry for the Deets

Digital stamps from Cirus were resized and printed out onto Very Vanilla card stock.
Mixture of inks, water, and alcohol inks to add aging to images, randomly on box, tickets, ribbon, cloths pin, bakers twine, watch trinket, and doily.
Images were fussy cut, sponged with inks around edges and then adhered to finish box.

Box
Box was made with WeR Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board.  It measures 4" x 4" x 4".
Paper is from Me & My Big Ideas.
Gold Encore ink for stamped stars.
Cajun Craze ink for words.
All edges are sponged with ink.
Alcohol ink for random sploches.
Gold Smooch Spritz on all sides and top.
Topper Body
Found a great tutorial on Split Coast Stampers using foil papers to make chipboard or 3D items vintage.  It called for foil paper already w/ the sticky stuff on the back, which I did not have.  I used average foil from my kitchen and sticky strip.
Toy was covered with sticky strip and cut up foil pieces.

Black Gesso over entire covered toy.  Let dry.
Holtz Alocohol inks (Butterscotch & Latte) and Blending Solution with sponge over entire toy.  This helped take off some of the Gesso and color the foil.
Added some Lava Red Inka Gold Metallic Rub for a bit more color.

Head is a digital stamp resized and printed twice and fussy cut.
Adhered together, sponged around edges, used alcohol inks to give a bit of color, and then Crystal Effects.

Extras
Collar is Chantilly Crochet Trim Ribbon (retired).
Metal button is a brad from stash.
Cloths pin has washi tape and was inked and sponged.
Tickets are from stash and inked up and distressed.
Safety pin is from stash.
Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine which was inked.
Metal Clock from Tea Time Trinkets (retired) was also inked.
Doily
Sewing pattern for layer on top of Doily.

SI Weekly DT, Junk Funk Aug, & HDH

Got at least one project done today.  Where in the heck did the summer go?  Well I guess that just means that Halloween is just around the corner, heheeeee...

I have for you today my Smeared Ink Weekly Design Team Project.  I have used a Smeared Ink image called Smokey.  Smokey was a FREE image that I received from a past challenge over at the Smeared and Smudged Forum.  Sorry, he is not available for sale.

I was inspired to create this for some other challenges.  The first is the August Junk Funk, on the Smeared and Smudged Forum, which you have to use toothpicks in some way on your project.  The next is a challenge for Haunted Design House Macrabe Monday.  You have until Sunday to get your Ferocious Furballs in.  You MUST see what the Design Team has created, wow!

This bad ass bunny is either going to be a box top or a hang of some sort.

Puffin' On the Deets

Smokey and saying were printed onto copy paper.
Saying is from Smeared Ink digital set called Love Lil' Grumpies.

Image was inked with black fine tip Sharpie, shaded in and cig-ie end colored with  Blendabilities. He is fussy cut and adhered to background.

Background is stamped with Smeared Ink stamps from a Rubber Club Past Offering set called Chick's Dig Guns (Nov 2013).  Silver Encore ink was used.

Random words in saying were cut out and adhered to give a bit more texture.
Background layer is outlined with Blendability.

Black layer is Black Gesso applied to cut cereal box.

Base or bottom layer is also cut cereal box.  It was punched with paper piercer in the upper left and lower right corners.
Toothpicks were broken in half and inserted into punched holes.
Entire base was spray painted with Krylon Looking Glass Paint, to give a metallic look.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

Smudgefest 2014 Day 6

Day 6 Challenge - Saturday Splatter - Create something splattery, oozing, drippy, or gooey.

I believe this blood thirsty bunny is a descendant from The Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog whom is mostly known for its small part in the movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  Nothing says 20th century more than a pink hoodie!

Smudgefest 2014 Day 2 & Oh!TH! August

See what Smudgefest 2014 is all about here starting with Day 1.
Today's Day 2 Challenge is Terrifying Tuesday - Showcase a project using your favorite scarey image.

I have chosen the head from a Smeared Ink digi set called Gross Anatomy.  I am showcasing a book/notebook that was also inspired from the Oh! The Horror! Challenge for the month of August at the Smeared and Smudged Forum.

The challenge has you create a project inspired from a movie, which is World War Z.  The whole world is affected and the main character must infect himself with the zombie disease in order to save the last of the human population.  This movie was also based off a great novel by Max Brooks.

This is a notebook for charting the disease and how it is taking control of the human body.  See the pulsing infected veins and the last bit of humanity in the eye?  Lets hope all the books being written and science can save us from a Zombie Apocalypse!
