Smeared Ink Design Team Monthly Blog Hop July 2014

 2014 July
Design Team Memeber Roll

SHONI - Crafty Inknik - You are here

The last week of July, holy moly how the time flies!  Hope you are having a great time blog hopping this morning.  You should have just arrived from a super teamie, Kapree.  Up next with another fab creation is Creepy Glowbugg.  We all love feedback, so leave a comment and let us know how wonderful (or un-wonderful) we are doing.

This month the theme was MONOCHROME.  Hum....and another hum....but it all came together once my new sets of rubber stamps arrived.  Get in on the fun and receive a sheet of Smeared Ink original rubber stamps from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.

I have altered a plastic case to make a little box to keep shells or jewelery, or what-not in.  I have used the set The Abyss (June 2014) and one of my favorite images, the larger seahorse.

More details below and have a great Smeared Ink Design Team Blog Hop!

Divin' for the Deets

Main Image

Seahorse was stamped onto Whisper White card stock with Versa Mark ink.  Pool Party Embossing Powder over image and heat set.
Colored in image with markers and Aqua Painter.
Covered finished image with Crystal Effects.
Once image was dry, used sponges and three different hues of blue inks to sponge background.
Wiped off excess ink off of image and re-stamped image again with Staz-On Azure ink.
Spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.
Adhered image to top of finished box with Crystal Effects (CF). CF also re-applied over entire box front.

Box

Alcohol ink and pouncer Holtz tool to apply color to plastic.
I made glue dots with glue gun and silicone mat.
Placed cooled glue dots onto lid and box bottom.
Sprinkled 3 types of beads to help fill in the small spaces.
Covered with CF to help hold everything in place and make smooth.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.
