Ike's World Challenges Design Team Project #13 - Spring into Spring

Well Hello!
Spring is just a couple of days away and what better way to get into the action than a new challenge at Ike's World Challenges.

The Design Team has some fair weather inspiration for you and don't forget to check back in one week for more.  Challenge #13 is Spring into Spring.  There are prizes to be won with every new challenge so get your creative mind to work and show us your entry.  An Ike's Art image must be used in your entry to be eligable for the prize.

The images from Ike's Art that I have used for this Spring challenge are Here's Kitty and Winter Robin.  This card fold is called the 4 Fold.  Each flap flips open a different way to reveal the inside.

As you may have seen in past projects, I just love cats.  They are so fun in real life and for my projects.  My cats have been waiting for better weather and are ready to get outside.  Just like this anxious kitty in my card.

Let Me At Em' Deets

Card base, flaps, and cut feathers on front are Basic Black card stock.

Here's Kitty is printed onto Whisper White card stock.  Aqua Painter, Blender Pen, markers, and ink used to color in.
Crystal Effects on eyes and nails.

Winter Robin is printed out multiple times, resized, and flipped onto Whisper White card stock.
Aqua Painter and inks to color around images.

Saying is from Word, font is Chiller.

Red and white background behind words and on front is from a Smeared Ink digital paper from set Poe Boy.

For scratches on front, a old pen that does not work was used on top of a soft pad to indent scratch marks.

Feathers on front were cut from an embossed sheet of card stock.  Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  Then scissors used to cut and add dimension around edges.
All materials used are current Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted.

I got my Very Sketchy Card up on the 31st, but did not get the post done until today.
The Smeared and Smudged Forum has some new challenges up for November, woo hoo!
Here's the sketch we are to use:

My card and entry:

Organic Details
Image is from Rick St. Dennis called Buddy and His Pet Plant.

Small circle clear dimension (for making brads) on eye of plant, from stash.
Background is from a Smeared Ink Digital Paper Pack called Vintage Grunge.  Print was printed onto Whisper White card stock.  I used Strawberry Slush ink pad directly onto card stock for the color.

Midnight Muse Dahlias for the three flowers.

31 DOH - Day 30 WARNING - Gory Images

You are now here at Shoni aka Crafty Inknik's and should have just left Roni's blog.  Jenn is next on the wonderfully talented Wicked Blogger list, that is on your left if you just joined us.
Thanks Smeared Ink and the Smeared and Smudged Forum for hosting this 31 Days of Halloween event.  And another HUGE THANKS to all the Sponsors who have been so generous all month long.

We made it to Day 30!  Everyone who has been here for the full month, and those of you who are intermittent, thank you so much for viewing and commenting.  To start from the beginning, see daily winners, and for more info check out Terra's Blog.

I had this wonderfully uber, ucky, idea a few weeks ago.  It was cemented this past weekend when I sat down and caught up on American Horror Story Coven and saw (heheheee) the episode called "Boy Parts".  Basically, the two witches are in the morgue cutting and sewing the best parts of multiple boys together for the perfect boyfriend.

I had this Workbench tutorial...somewhere.  Tore into every box and checked every binder.  This project almost did not happen, but found it!  Lucky for you, the Workbench of Death was created.  I kept the images without color because I thought all the red on the workbench spoke for itself.  Extreme, yes.  Gory, yes.  The perfect boyfriend soon to be completed, yes.  What can I say, I grew up on 80's horror movies!

Hack Sawed Deets
Bench
I used a digi paper from Smeared Ink called Slasher Digital Paper Pack.  I printed it out onto Smoky Slate card stock (cs), two times.
All pieces to make the workbench base and drawer are from this printed cs.

Cork board piece that is holding the tools has been embossed with Dots Embossing Folder.  Then inked with Crumb Cake ink.
Silver Mini Brads are the faux nails to hold up tools.

Drawer
Front is Basic Black cs embossed with a cross hatch embossing folder from Cuttlebug.
Silver Encore ink on to make to look like metal.
1/2" Circle punch for handle.
Silver Glitter Brad for handle center.

In drawer I place sewing needles, rolled strips of dry sheets, inked strips of dryer sheets, and Linen Thread.

Silver Encore ink is on all edges, sides and tops of bench.

Tools
I hand drew each blade, on the printed Smoky Slate cs and cut out.  Marker was used to add more blood to blade edges.
Hand drawn handles on Basic Black cs.  Cut out and adhered to finished blade.

Images are from Smeared Ink set called Gross Anatomy
They are printed out and fussy cut.
I did have to cut arm off and re-place to fall right.
All materials used are Stampin' Up! and are current unless otherwise noted.

I am also placing this page in the Smeared and Smudged Forum Challenge, Very Sketchy.  To the left is the scrapbook page sketch that you are to follow as your guideline.

I love this new paper Smeared Ink is offering...sooo cool and altered it a bit with my Picasso tools.  The stamp is from a past Smeared Ink Rubber Club offering.  That pet totally creeps me out.  I found the quote and it fit just too perfect.  I think I may print off some black an white pictures of my husband and stick them all over the web.  Since this month is all about the chills and thrills I give you both!

A Wicked Knot of Details
Background is from Caught In My Web Background Paper Pack, 7 pages for $4.50!!  I altered with my Picasso tools and printed out onto copy paper.

Main image and "Hello My Pet" saying from the set Femdom, January 2013, past Smeared Ink Rubber Club offering.

"good boy" is from a retired Stampin' Up! set called Everyday Flexible Phrases.  Both sayings were stamped in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

Main image was stamped with Versa Mark and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder.  Wrap on her arm colored with marker.

Spiders and dripping blood punches, I believe are both Martha Stewart.  White Chalk marker used to make hour glass on spiders, then colored over with marker.

Delicate Lace Tape on lower left corner of page and on right side of main image matte.

Saying "Escape from the black widow spider is a miracle as great as art.  What a web she can weave slowly drawing you to her she'll embrace you then when she's satisfied she'll kill you still in her embrace and suck the blood from you."  Charles Bukowski, Love is a Dog from Hell.  Printed onto copy paper in red and black.  Cut and adhered.

Card stock used is Basic Black, Real Red, and Whisper White.
All materials used are Stampin' Up! and are current unless otherwise noted.
