Ike's World Challenge #7 - Winter is Coming DT Project

Here we go for Ike's World Challenges...it is Challenge #6 - Winter Is Coming.
I just love how Ike drew these hands and those killer nails!  I made a hang and will eventually have a total of 4 that represent all transitioning seasons.  This came out better than I imagined and I had so much fun creating this hang.

Now, remember that in order to win any prizes for Ike's World Challenges, you must use one of Ike's images from Ike's Art somewhere in your project.  We would love to see your creations! Go and get crafty.

Again I apologize for the flash, it lost the gold (on left) and silver (on right) spritzing that added an extra shimmer to the background.

Here is my offering and hopefully some inspiration for you on the upcoming Winter season and this challenge at Ike's World Challenges.

Passing onto the Deets

I printed the image, NOT the Sistine Chapel, in a blue and dark orange color with my tools on my photo editor.  Then once more on copy paper to use as a mask for the negative and a mask for the hand.

On the left hand, Fall, I used the Stampin' Up! sets Truly Grateful (HC), Gently Falling, Gorgeous Grunge, and Delightful Decorations.
Multiple ink pads of yellow, orange, red, and browns used for stamped images.
Gold Encore pad also used.
Markers and a Blender Pen were used to color in hand and nails.
Entire hand was covered with Crystal Effects.

The right hand, Winter, I used SU! sets Snow Swirled, Festive Flurry (HC), Gorgeous Grunge, and Delightful Decorations.
Multiple ink pads of blues and greys used for stamped images.
Silver Encore pad also used.
Markers and a Blender Pen were used to color in hand, around hand, and nails.
Entire hand was covered with Crystal Effects.

Background was stamped with SU! sets Gorgeous Grunge and Open Sleigh (retired).
Masking was used through out the stamping on each piece.
Gold (retired) and Silver Smooch Spritz was used on each coordinating halves.
White Organza Ribbon for the hang.
Whisper White, Cajun Craze, and Midnight Muse card stock used.

Smeared and Smudged Forum November Oh! The Horror! Challenge

Who does not love the movie the Legend of Sleepy Hallow, the Tim Burton version?
If you do then I suggest getting on the Smeared and Smudged Forum and taking on this month's Oh! The Horror! movie challenge.  The rule is, "This will be a free hand challange how ever the only rule is keep it vintage victorian what ever you create."

This is a favorite movie that is a must see at least once a year.  I have created a card and tried to keep it to the Victorian Era.  Just a little fun fact that at that time, many were experimenting with photography and using illusions to make it seem like their head was missing.  I used the main image from Vintage Everyday

Card Front

Card Inside

Hand Full of Details
I used a quote on the front of the card from the book, The Legend of Sleepy Hallow by Washington Irving.  It is written with marker on Smeared Ink digital paper called Branched from the set Honor the Dead.  I altered the color to sepia and printed out on Whisper White card stock (cs).

On the inside of the card, I used another digi paper from the set called Vintage Grunge.  Again printed on cs, cut and adhered for the back panels.

Image was printed 4 times and done in sepia.
I used the stamp set Pumpkin Faces Inchies by Inkadinkado.  Faces were stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.

Embellies
Vintage Brads on the front.
Crochet Trim Ribbon on the inside.
All materials used are Stampin' Up! and are current unless otherwise noted.

Smudgy Antics Week 2 DT Project - Fire and Ice

It is Week #2 for the challenge at Smudgy Antics.  The theme is Fire and Ice.
We would love to see your creativity on this and have you play along.
Be sure to check this Week #2 inspiration, and if you have missed Week #1 Design Team project, click HERE.

I have 2 projects to share.  The first is to the second part of my Ice from last week.  My Fire is a card for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.  Some creatures prefer human to turkey for this time of year.  So get the pit stoked and the spit greased on this icy, chilly night...gobble gobble.
"take a load off."
"get lit for the holidays."
"gobble, gobble."

My second project is also a card.  I have used a cold as ice Vamp who is smokin' hot.  I apologize for the flash, it took away her icy blue skin tone.

Hot Deets for Card #1
I told you I was having too much fun with the Gross Anatomy digi set from Smeared Ink.  Image was printed out and fussy cut.  I did cut off the arms.
A bobby pin was used for the turning mechanism that the body is on.
Markers to color in body.  Crystal Effects on the inerreds.

Fire/flames were made with Crystal Effects on a silicone sheet, shaped and let dry.  I then used markers to give some color and scissors to make more flame like flows.

Fire pit and background images are stamps from past offerings of the Smeared Ink Rubber Club set Haunted Places (Sept 2013), drawn by Rick St. Dennis.
Each is stamped with Black Staze On and colored in with markers and a Blender Pen.

Background color is sponged onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.

Sayings are from the set Occasions Grumpies (Sept 2013), also from the Smeared Ink Rubber Club.  They are stamped in Black Staze On.

Entire card from was spritzed with Vanilla Smooch Spritz.

Cool and Smoky Details for Card #2
Icy Vamp is from a set by Smeared Ink called Glam Vamps digi set.  Printed out and colored in with markers and a Blender Pen.
She is then fussy cut and adhered onto from with Crystal Effects.
Flames on background were sponged in with a stencil.  I then fussy cut and adhered with Crystal Effects.
Background is a piece of Smoky Gray card stock that was previously printed on.  I used one of the new digi papers from Smeared Ink called Slasher.  I used the Marina Mist ink pad directly onto the card stock to give the blue ice color.
A White Chalk marker is the outlining around the flames.
The ice chunks for the frame were a happy accident.  My kids always seem to have those small bouncy balls laying around the house.  I accidently vacumed one up the other day and had to dig it out.  It was broken, in chunks and looked like ice.  So I used it!  Thought it turned out pretty "cool", hahahaaaa...
All materials used are Stampin' Up! and are current unless otherwise noted.

Smudgy Antics Fire and Ice Challenge - DT Project

Today starts a new two week challenge at Smudgy Antics.
The theme is Fire and Ice.
Lets see what you can come up with, we would love to have you join us.
Be sure to check out all the inspiration, because there are some awesomely amazing projects up.

I went off the path a little on my project for this challenge by focusing on the Ice part.
Some heat was involved, meaning a heat gun.
I just received the Gross Anatomy digi set and have been having waaaayyy to much fun with it.
Don't worry, you will see the Fire part of this challenge next week.

My project is a Freezer made from the new Wood Mount Cases by Stampin' Up!.  It also doubles as a Post It Note Holder.
This person is into daily affirmations that are hung/stuck to the door.
But the true self is exposed when the door is opened...

Quotes are:
"Sometimes I fee like a vampire."  Theodore Robert Bundy
"We can only learn so much and live." Thomas Harris, Hannibal
"If the blue meanies are going to get me they'd better get off their asses and do something."  The Zodiac Killer
"The tragedy is not to die, but to be wasted."  Thomas Harris, Hannibal
