The Octopode Factory and Smudgy Antics Challenges

Now, how great was yesterday's Smeared Ink's Skull Appreciation Day Blog Hop?  I am still going back to look at all the hoppers again, what talented wonderful people.  Now that the hop is over, time to dig in for some of this month's challenges.

I just found The Octopode Factory Challenge Blog...and LOVE it!  I also missed the Smudgy Antic's Challenge last round and am determined not to miss again.

Octopode Factory Friday Challenge - Lovely Ladies

Smudgy Antics - Texture.  "We want to see TEXTURE and lots of it!  We want to you guys and gals to create projects that make us want to reach through the computer screen and touch everything we see!  The more creative the better."  Now remember there must be a stamped image somewhere on your project.

I have used a lovely little lady, digital stamp, as my main image from The Octopode Factory titled "Eloise".  I have also used embossing, torn waffle paper, cut doily, Crystal Effects, fine glitter, and some lace ribbon for my textures.  Here is My Sassy Heels...

 DETAILS

Background
Parlor Prints, a large background stamp from Stampin' Up! was inked with Versa Mark and then stamped onto Whisper White card stock.

Pool Party Embossing Powder was placed over stamped image, then heat embossed with heat gun.

I sponged 4 different pinks and then crumpled card stock.  Then sponged Crumb Cake over entire card stock and edges.

I used Crystal Effects to help adhere the lace ribbon (from retired Embellishments Artisan Kit, Stamipn' Up!).  The Crumb Cake ink that was sponged on before seeped and dyed the ribbon a little.

Finished background was then adhered to Early Espresso card.

Eloise
She measures 1 1/2" x 3 1/2".  I printed onto Whisper White card stock.

I colored her in with SU! Markers.

On Very Vanilla card stock, I tried to make an outline of a man's profile.  I then glued to center of her broach and added Crystal Effects to give depth.

I used Black Enamel Accents, by Ranger, on the black parts of her eyes.

Crystal Effects was added to the center of eye.

Again, hard to see, but I did put tiny dots of Gold Marker on head gear, top of broach, and shirt buttons.

Tombow glue on shoes, then sprinkled Champagne Fine Glitter (retired SU!).  I let her dry then fussy cut out.

EXTRAS
Doily
I noticed that the doily (SU!) pattern had some mask shapes in it.  So I used the Pool Party marker to color them in and then cut the shapes out.
The Early Espresso Marker was used to help darken and define the shapes of the masks.
I then used Crystal Effects over entire ring.

Waffle Paper
The White Waffle Paper (retired SU!) was torn into strips and then adhered to center of finished background.

Saying
Saying was made from two different sayings from a set by Dylusions called "Say It How It Is".
They were stamped onto Pool Party card stock.
I used markers to add a little color, then Crystal Effects over saying to help pop them out.
